THE RAMM FRAMEWORK
Understanding gives direction.
Practice makes the ability usable.
RAMM is a framework for understanding and practicing four abilities that influence how people pursue meaningful goals: relaxation, attention, motivation, and memory.

01 · THE GOAL
A goal asks more than one thing of you
Meaningful progress may require the ability to regulate pressure, direct attention, sustain effort, and carry learning forward. The demands vary according to the person, the goal, and the situation.
02 · TOP-DOWN
Understanding gives direction.
A top-down approach helps explain each ability, its role, and how it may influence progress toward a particular goal. The person, goal, and situation shape what deserves attention.
03 · BOTTOM-UP
Practice makes the ability usable.
A bottom-up approach uses guided practice to make the relevant ability more available in the situations where it is needed.
04 · INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT
The combination is individual.
The Framework remains consistent, but the relevant combination is individual. Different goals can place different demands on each of the four abilities.
05 · CONTINUED USE
Bring the abilities forward.
With continued use, the abilities become part of how you approach meaningful goals. The aim is not perfection, but greater choice in how you respond.
